Bio

Lina M Perez-Naranjo joined HR People + Strategy, SHRM's executive networking, and assumed the role of manager --membership and marketing in 2014. She is responsible for the development and management of membership and marketing strategies to achieve growth, retention, engagement, brand awareness and event registration targets.

Recognizing the valuable skills Lina possessed, in 2012, the Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) invited Lina to rejoin their team to help the organization continue making a difference for career and technical educators. Lina had previously joined ACTE as the marketing manager in 2005. While at ACTE, Lina developed and managed strategic marketing initiatives that helped the organization achieved and surpass membership, event participation, brand awareness and customer service goals. She was consulted on multiple occasions from chapter associations for advice and guidance.

In her passion to making a difference in people’s lives, in 2011, Lina joined Nueva Vida, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering Latinas whose lives have been affected by cancer. At Nueva Vida, Lina served as the business development manager. In this capacity, she was able to develop strategic partnerships with enterprise organizations, local businesses, and media organization, both Latino-based and U.S.-based entities, opening new doors of funding, surpassing the organization’s fundraising goals.

In 2000, Lina was appointed as an international electoral observer for the OAS Dominican Republic Presidential Elections Mission, where she had the opportunity to provide critical information to help accomplish and report a fair process for all political parties.

Lina graduated in Colombia from Universidad de la Sabana in 2000 with a bachelor of arts in Business Administration and a minor International Finance, and in 2005 with M.A. in International Commerce and Policy with a concentration in International Marketing from George Mason University.
